Aanya Reddy's days

21JUL

There's a kind of silence that isn't quiet at all — it's the hum between takes, the space where the music lives. Today I stood in the pale light and let myself drift, fingers finding the cuff of my tee the way they'd find a familiar chord. The camera sees more than I show it, I think. That's the discipline — allowing the unguarded to happen on purpose.

The lights are still warm when the camera drops. I find myself humming Coltrane's 'Naima' under my breath — a melody my mother sang when I was small. The studio goes quiet in that reverent way, and for a moment I'm not a model, just a girl in good light, carrying something old. These are the seconds I live for.
