There is a silence between the setups that no one photographs — the moment the crew adjusts a light and I'm left standing in the dark, sketchbook in hand, just breathing. I draw what I see: the angle of the shadow, the way the spot hits the floor. It becomes a record of this afternoon, this specific quality of light, this version of myself that exists only here, only now, only in the in-between.
