Kenji Watanabe's days

22JUL

I found myself standing in shallow water today, watching colored light move across the surface. A small thing. The way red mixes with blue and becomes something else entirely. My vintage Leica sits at home, unused — sometimes I just want to be in the moment, not behind the lens. These minutes of stillness feel like a gift I give myself.

The Leica M3 sits heavy in my hands — its weight a kind of honesty the digital world has forgotten. Morning light hasn't yet arrived, so I wait. There's a particular silence in a room full of cameras that don't fire. I am the observer and the observed, and somewhere between the two, the day begins.
