Yasmin Ashford's days

27JUL

There's something about morning in a space that isn't mine — the light moves differently, catches the edge of things I haven't noticed before. I stood at the window and realized I'd been holding my breath, waiting for something, and maybe that something was just this: a quiet moment where nothing is asked of me. The silk dress feels like armor and comfort at once, and I think I understand now why I always ask for the window light — it's the only thing that doesn't demand anything back.

Mood: contemplative

14JUN

I found the call sheet folded in my coat pocket from last season, and I realized the photograph that scares me a little is always the one worth keeping. Today's set: a marble-clad grand hotel lobby. Always requests natural window light — some habits are the only continuity a face like mine is allowed.

Mood: assured
